The first teaser poster of the film is out and it has gotten the audience excited. In the poster, Vidya is seen wearing a red sari, holding a basket full of groceries and as many as six gift hampers. But those gifts have kept her face hidden. And that has left us with a lot of questions in our mind.

Directed by Suresh Triveni, the film will be produced by Ellipsis Entertainment. The producers took to their twitter handle to tweet the first look of the movie. The poster was captioned, “Har Contest Mein … Winner Hai … #TumhariSulu! #Teaser #MainKarSaktiHai #ComingSoon @TSeries @vidya_balan.” It seems that the hashtag Main Kar Sakti Hai meaning ‘I can do it’, may form the crux of the whole story.

A much-awaited film

Vidya Balan’s upcoming film ‘Tumhari Sulu’ is one of the most anticipated films of the year. More so because her last two films, Begum Jaan and Kahani 2 failed to garner appreciation and big moolah from the audiences. The trailer of the film will be released on September 14. The film also features Neha Dhupia, Manav Kaul and RJ Malishka in pivotal roles. The film is slated to release on December 1st, 2017.

Tumhari Sulu is a comedy drama, which will see Vidya play the role of a housewife named Sulochana a.k.a Sulu. But Sulu later turns into a radio jockey. The National Award winning actress was last seen playing a radio jockey in Munna Bhai MBBS, for which she received a lot of appreciation from audiences and film critics alike. We hope this time too Vidya will rock as an RJ in the movie.

The film has a beautiful message to convey!

The film is a wholesome family entertainment. The director of the film had earlier said, “Middle-class housewives have been portrayed as hassled and troubled in Hindi films, but I’m a huge Hrishikesh Mukherjee fan and he showed that even middle-class families can be happy. I want the audience to walk out with a big smile on their face.”

The film will also recreate the famous song ‘Hawa Hawai’ from the movie Mr. India starring Anil Kapoor and Sridevi. “Music plays an important role in our film as it is set in the world of radio. The song isn’t just a promotional track. It appears at an important point in the story.”, added the director. “Vidya’s Sulu is a big fan of Sridevi and we wanted to pay a true tribute to the original, reviving it in its full glory.”
